| Business Recommendation: Help set up an informational system so employers can provide employees with referrals for social services needed or that can help. Status: Plan to coordinate awareness of 211 system to businesses throughout Greene County. |
Policy Recommendation: Develop a city/county platform in support of children and families. Status: Planning group is identifying attributes of platform. Will conduct focus group discussions throughout city to gain input from residents. |
| Education Recommendation: Complete a comprehensive feasibility study for expanding affordable accessible high quality pre-school offerings Status: Study group is underway led by Dr Sue George (MSU). In process on contacting large group of stakeholders (both public & private) for input into process. |
Services Recommendation: Build an integrated social marketing network thru all agencies promoting a unified message each month. Status: Early Care and Education Collaborative group is defining the messages and working on ways to distribute thru agency newsletters and electronic messaging. |
| Faith Recommendation: Create a database of programs and services for children offered by the faith community to share amongst themselves to give ideas and encouragement to others who want to get involved but aren’t quite sure how. Status: Building a database to use for collecting info described above. Will be added to redwagonkids.net site for use by the faith community. |
Health Recommendation: Promote a community expectation that all children should receive basic health (before age 3) and dental (before age 1) screenings. Status: Have approached majority of pediatrician offices, WIC Clinic, PAT and distributed printed material for their use in encouraging parents to get their children screened early. Working on project to train pediatrician offices how to apply fluoride varnish to young children’s teeth. |
